The summer of 2012 was the very first time I saw that side of Connemara. I was visiting a long time friend who used to live in that lost part of the world. On my way back to the east, I decided to take a different road. Well, after taking me a long way from my schedule, it also took my breath away. It gave me the gift of a vision: the visual of what Noah’s Bridge would have looked like. It was then and there that I had seen Noah’s face for the first time. The village, the lakes, the bridge. It had everything and it had much more. That’s when the magic of that place came to me.

“As the dreams of another world took shape in my mind, places, names, details had filled my mind like a powerful waterfall. Daniel, Anita and Noah’s journey became mine. So I met the Chomps, fell trapped in Broken Crown Ruins, walked through Mogs Pass and the Desert of the Dead Ones. And there, the worst enemy I had ever met, was patiently waiting for me.”

I kept asking myself: What the Aqualymphs Sea would have looked like? Before the war, the mist, before the Great Down, what majestic power must have withheld? In my mind, the suffocating beauty, the powerful stormy landscape of Sicily was the best way to represent it. In the world of magic, there Aura had welcomed Daniel, Noah and Anita saying: “There are two too many..”

“That day in Kinsale, I saw with my own eyes what King Loahn would have seen from his keep, long before the Crimson Queen would rose to power, before the destruction of the human kingdom. There, where Broken Crown Ruins now stands, a fortress of impenetrable strength stood, unchallenged, unbreakable. At the edge of their dominion, the humans’ lands extended from the Aqualymphs Sea to the Valahan Mogs.”

“Hidden from sight, protected by both magic and nature, the once intact biggest building in those lands was Treekan’s favourite place to be. Holding the secrets of the Ancient Mirrors behind gigantic doors, Daniel, Anita and Noah kept wondering why incredible small creatures like the Chomps would build a such large place.”
- “I have the feeling they must have been taller, in the past..” - Noah
- “Or maybe they needed it this big because all those secrets?” - Anita

The idea for The Power of Love was born many years ago, probably sixteen or so. It had different names and different places but the core was exactly as it is now. It took me a while before I could bring the magic to life. I had to know Ireland and its magic first hand to be able to see with my own eyes the things I could only see with my mind. And so, after many attempts, The One came to be. Summer 2018 to be exact.
